Dr. Ranjit Suseelan, Quality, Food Safety, Environment & sustainable seafood professional with 25 years of extensive experience in the field of Fisheries & Aquaculture. He had his masters in Industrial Fisheries & Doctorate in Mariculture. He is experienced in setting-up seafood manufacturing unit, aquaculture operations, implementing new quality, food safety, environmental systems and technology right from scratch across geographical locations like Middle East & India. Experienced in leading end-to-end activities such as system development, technology transfer including operational & commercial activities. Experienced in managing applied R&D, commercialization projects & product development (fish & shrimps).
Worked in middle east for the world’s largest Integrated Aquaculture project, National Aquaculture Group, Saudi Arabia in the capacity as the Group Head for Quality, Food Safety & Sustainability by providing advisory, technology & business solutions. Was also spearheading applied R&D, commissioning & commercialization projects, farming & processing and production management. Expert in implementation of Systems such as ISO – 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 22000, BRC, HACCP, BAP, Global GAP, ASC & regulatory requirements of Middle East (GCC), SFDA, ADMA, PME & EU. Managed large scale trade quality programs, brand quality assurance & certifications, building trust amongst global consumers and partners and improving customer loyalty. Also worked as a consultant for many projects of Saudi Government (SFDA, ADMA, SASO) & SAS. Has the merit of being Lead (IRCA) Auditor for ISO 22000 and ISO 9001. He currently heads & leads the Marine Stewardship Council operations in India.
