Completed M.Sc( Marine Biology) in the year 1992 securing first class & second rank from the Post Graduate Centre for Marine Biology, Karwar, Karnataka, India. In total has an experience of 27 yrs in seafood processing industry, Shrimp aquaculture, Mariculture, Fisheries Research & Extension and conservation of marine resources. Presently coordinating and lead implementing the Ocean & Coasts programmes for WWF in India which includes, assisting in expanding the scope of the programme including fund raising, Liaising and managing partnerships with a range of project partners including technical institutions, NGOs, National and international organisations, RFMO’s and State government departments. Supporting the policy related work under the marine program in close collaboration with field teams, govt. departments and policy experts.
working primarily on the community based fisheries programme on Ecolabelling/MSC Certification and, implementation of projects on Climate change and marine fisheries, Marine turtle conservation, ASC certification, coastal developmental policies, representing WWF-India in national and international meetings and workshops on marine conservation related issues. Also a core team member of WWF Global Ocean Practice. Has 40 publications (both national and international) to my credit which includes research papers, scientific articles, reports and brochures.
